When therapy matters

Frequently Asked Questions

After my toe surgery, I still couldn't lie my toes flat on the ground and I couldn't walk the lake anymore.  Since completing therapy, I am happy to report I am back to walking the lake 3 times a week.  And wearing my sandals again!
Thanks folks.

Special thanks to Dianna at the front desk.  Not only did she go above and beyond scheduling my therapy appointments around my crazy schedule, she also helped me understand my insurance.  Not an easy task.

How can physical therapy help me?

A physical therapist can evaluate your condition and identify the source of your discomfort or dysfunction. Once evaluated, the therapist can develop a treatment program that will usually involve some form of manual therapy and exercise, as well as modalities if they are needed to treat the problem areas. You will also receive instruction in a home exercise program as well as education on proper body mechanics and posture to prevent re-injury.

What do I need to get started?

Florida law does not require a client get a referral from a medical doctor in order to begin physical therapy treatment, however, some insurance companies require one for payment.  Medicare does currently require a physician order for payment, most other insurances do not.  We would be happy to determine your insurances requirements prior to your initial evaluation.  Our evaluation is very thorough and if any findings suggest you should see a doctor, we will refer you back to your physician or help you find the best physician for your problem.

Contact us today at 863-644-0007 and we can get started.  We will need your name and insurance information.  After we have confirmed that we are contracted with your insurance carrier, we can get you scheduled for your initial evaluation.

What should I expect on my first visit?

On your initial visit to our clinic, you will be evaluated by a licensed physical therapist. Our therapists have advanced degrees and specializations which will provide you with a complete assessment of your condition.  Plan to be with us for 45-60 minutes which will include time for your therapist to get to know you so that they may better understand your injury. Each client's situation is unique and your plan of care will be set up just for you.

Please plan on coming 15 minutes before the start of your appointment to complete your new patient paperwork.  You can speed up the process by
printing the forms off of our website, filling out your forms and bringing them with you.  Bring along your physician's referral, your insurance card (if applicable) and wear comfortable clothes that give the therapist access to your injured area.

Does insurance pay for physical therapy treatment?

Medical insurance generally covers physical therapy treatment. However, each insurance plan is different. You can check with your insurance carrier to determine your coverage. Or, if you prefer, you can call us at 863-644-0007 today and our staff will be glad to assist you in determining your benefits.  We do also offer a self pay discount for those with no insurance or high deductible plans that chose to not file through insurance.
